Crafted Division (continuum)

In this series of drawings the materials are Carbon (graphite) and Cotton (paper) and mimic weaving structures. At the time, my studio was situated at a building (Crusader Mill) erected around 1830, originally a spinning mill.
Thoughts on working culture, the physical repetition of human movement at the factory and its similarities to the technical, the obscure parts of history passed as details and its loops ordered the forms and materials of the drawings which continued after my own final moving from Manchester.
